Employment Opportunities

Grace is a called-and-lay-staffed ELCA congregation — our three pastors are joined by a team of staff and ministry directors who keep worship, music, care, and our preschool and childcare programs running week to week. Here’s what’s currently open.

Communication & Engagement Manager

Reports to: Pastor Chad and the Pastoral Team
Classification: 30 hours/week up to full-time · $42,000–$50,000
Schedule: On-site Monday–Thursday (3 days; specific day off based on candidate preference) and Sundays 8:00am–2:00pm; Fridays and Saturdays off
Target start: Fall 2026

The Communication and Engagement Manager is the primary steward of Grace’s voice, story, and public presence — bringing God’s heart. Our hands. grace in ACTION. to life through every channel of communication. This is a ministry leadership role, not a support function: this person builds and owns the communications system so that ministry leaders submit needs on a schedule, pastors are informed and supported rather than pushing information, and Grace’s best stories are consistently amplified. The role also carries some administrative and front-office backup duties.

What you’d do

  • Communications strategy — build the intake process ministry leaders use to submit needs, translate pastoral vision and seasonal themes (currently: Flourish) into campaigns, and plan communications 6–12 weeks out with ministry leads and pastors.
  • Email & newsletters — produce the weekly “What’s Happening at Grace” email and the quarterly newsletter mailed to 350+ households.
  • Website — serve as primary owner of gotgrace.com: events, announcements, ministry pages, and rotating content, with an eye toward SEO and single-entry workflows across the website, Planning Center, and email.
  • Social media & content — lead strategy across Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube; attend worship services and events to capture photos, video, and stories, including member testimonies that reflect our diverse community.
  • Graphic design & print — design all church print and digital materials (bulletins, flyers, posters, banners, seasonal branding) and manage the Canva asset library.
  • Podcast & video — edit and publish podcast episodes, coordinate with the A/V team on video and livestream promotion, and keep bulletin boards, Welcome Center screens, and the readerboard current.
  • Volunteers — recruit, onboard, and coach a team of communications volunteers: photographers, writers, designers, and social contributors.
  • Systems — administer Constant Contact, Canva, social accounts, and podcast platforms; train staff and ministry leaders on communications tools and submission processes.
  • Occasional front-office backup — help cover phones and welcome members, visitors, and guests as needed.

What you’d bring

  • Active Christian faith and a genuine commitment to Grace’s mission, vision, and Ways of Life
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, writing clearly for varied audiences
  • Strong graphic design ability (Canva required; Adobe Creative Suite a plus)
  • Social media management experience across Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Proficiency with an email marketing platform (Constant Contact or equivalent) and a website CMS
  • Self-directed — comfortable owning systems and driving projects rather than waiting to be assigned
  • Strong attention to detail across multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines
  • Day-one comfort with Canva, an email platform, social tools, Microsoft/Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Suite; WordPress, Planning Center, and basic video editing picked up within the first 90 days
  • Preferred: bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Preferred: a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, ministry, or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: video editing, podcast production, and photography experience
