Each year in late July, this mission travels to rural Lutheran congregations in El Salvador for worship, medical and dental service, and relationship-building. It’s mostly relational, with a work project woven in. You don’t need a special skill. You already have the gifts to go.
“The moment I knew this ministry mattered was in 2009. A group of four from Grace were listening to the quiet voices of some women who had been through a horrific war. They wanted a building for their church. They had land for the church because their pastor, Pastor Matias, sold his house to buy the land. In that moment, I thought to myself, ‘what or who would I sell my house for?’”
GuatemalaWomen to women: when a pan of lasagna and a pajama party get women together.
A trip with the Guatemalan Girls builds real connection across the miles, woman to woman, from Guatemala to Washington.
“We were stopped at a security checkpoint in the airport and our belongings and donations were searched. I was ready to pay the tax on the medical and humanitarian goods we were bringing in and then, the agent stamped our form ‘PAID.’ Followed by her words: ‘Thank you for what you are doing to help the women in my country.’”

Grace’s Mexico partnership exists to build lasting accompaniment across the border, rooted in shared faith and mutual support. Since 1985, we’ve shown up again and again, walking alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s not aid—it’s relationship. And every trip changes us as much as those we come to serve.
